Michael has been involved with Citizens Advice for over 27 years and has been a director of Caithness CAB for eight years, six of those as Chair.

During the COVID pandemic, he was instrumental in steering the bureau through extremely challenging times, ensuring that support was in place to provide a service to the community.

Michael has been an active member of the Caithness Poverty Action Group and represents Caithness CAB on the Caithness Community Planning Partnership. 

Highland councillor since 2007, serving the former Landward ward (ten years), and now Wick and East Caithness. Serving on a significant number of local authority and voluntary committees across the county in a management and director's role.

Ongoing Agricultural contractor serving Caithness and affectionately known as A I Willie, covering North and East Sutherland for the past 56 years.  Very well acquainted with all Parishes in Caithness, the towns, and villages throughout, and knowing countless people, their issues, and concerns.

Acting chair of the 63-year-old voluntary Caithness branch of ENABLE for adults with a learning disability.  Gets involved with a significant number of annual community events throughout Caithness, acting as compere, organiser, or activities co-ordinator.

With backgrounds in engineering and training, Bryan Dods brings recent experience of community development and poverty relief work to TCDT. A resident of Shebster, his hobbies include music performance and beekeeping.

I have been a Director of Caithness CAB since 2024 and enjoy contributing to the organisation's development and success.  It brings tremendous benefits to the community, including employment and, of course, helping clients in often life-changing ways. Previously, I worked in the private sector, leading large organisations and delivering projects.  Those people and project skills have stood me in good stead for contributing to CAB, particularly in developing a new organisational structure and our Outreach capability.

Outside of CAB, I have two children who are in university. I enjoy walking and sports, and am fortunate to be able to travel extensively in search of warmer climes.

Rubens is committed to consumer rights, equity, and justice, and he continues to do so in his spare time as a fierce disability advocate and trainer. 
Rubens is excited to build on CCAB's successes by pooling his advisory experience and empowering senior leadership teams across public, private, and third-sector organisations on 7-figure projects. For example, shaping the skills and career provision landscapes across South England’s schools and colleges.  Therefore, Rubens is uniquely equipped to elevate the team, spotlight strengths, and the services' irreplaceable personal touch, thereby emboldening the wider community across the Caithness region. 
Outside of Caithness CAB, Rubens has captained the England swim team internationally.  He finds peace painting within the Thurso community, partnering with the Greenhouses, cooking for the Seniors Monthly Lunch Club and donating blood. 
 

Gwen moved to the North of Scotland to work as a community nurse/midwife in 2007 and worked in the NHS for 35 years, retiring in 2024 as a midwife.

Gwen is now a therapist and works with people with physical and emotional issues.  She has two grown-up children and two granddaughters living locally, and a son working in Germany.
